Salary: £35000 - £55000 per annum Plus benefits

Our client is a widely known organisation whose growth and success has lead to the expansion of their Data Scientist team. They are looking to recruit a skilled and ambitious Data Scientist able to split time between building proof of concept style models and delivering measurable change on the business.The company wants the business operations to be more proactive and less reactive. Main responsibilities for this role will cover as follows:
* Key focus will be to use mathematical modelling to solve business problems.
* Providing comprehensive analytics and business modelling to contribute to the cost effectiveness of the business
* Identifying trends and highlighting problem areas in order to make recommendations to improve business performance
* Using advanced mathematical and analytical methods to help the business solve problems and make better decisions
* Engaging with the operational and BI teams, working collaboratively and presenting findings
* Leading a small team of Insight Analysts/ Junior Data Scientists
Background and abilities required:
* A related degree qualification. PhD level would be advantageous
* Excellent leadership skills and the ability to manage a team
* The ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
* Excellent communications skills and commercial acumen
* Experience using software such as SAS, R, Python, Matlab or similar
* An understanding of computer modelling techniques such as machine learning, statistical modelling, experiment design or optimisation
* A proactive can-do attitude with the ability to take ownership of your work
* Comfortable handling large sets of complex data and drawing out meaningful insights through R, Python and other unique tools
* Comfortable championing the work you do up to the most senior level and comfortable making your complex world sound like child's play
