The College is situated in Ewell, close to Epsom in Surrey, and is located in the green belt near Epsom Downs and can easily be accessed either by car (junctions 8-10 on the M25) or rail (Ewell West is close and the college is next to Ewell East where you can get regular direct trains to Clapham Junction and Victoria). The College was last inspected in February 2016 retaining its overall grading of 'Good' under the robust new Ofsted standards.

Head of Department - Mathematics

Circa £42K

Are you able to inspire their students to achieve their very best in mathematics? Do you have the vision and drive to lead teaching and learning in mathematics that really makes a difference? Will you take the best our teachers have to offer and develop their skills further?

If you have the belief and determination that you can, and that you hold students at the core of everything you do then the role of Head of Department of Mathematics is for you.

You'll lead a team of specialist mathematics teachers to deliver GCSE, Functional Skills and Core mathematics to 16-19 and adult students taken from the full breadth of the college's curriculum. Along with specialist resources and facilities, you'll lead this key area of the College's work and bring about real impact on students' lives.

Already you will be a great teacher and will know your students well. You will have had some recent experience of curriculum management in mathematics, what works well and what doesn't and you will know how to get the very best of your team. You will also have a good understanding of the changes relating to mathematics that the further education sector is adapting to.
