Coleg Elidyr Camphill Communities is a registered charity situated in a beautiful part of south west Wales near Llandovery, Carmarthenshire. The charity has two communities in the area that provide further education, training and care for learners and residents. The communities are Coleg Elidyr at Rhandirmwyn and Victoria House in Llangadog.

Coleg Elidyr is a residential Camphill Community College providing further education and training for young people aged 18-25 with learning difficulties and disabilities. Founded in 1973, Coleg Elidyr has many years’ experience of working with young people with a wide range of learning difficulties and disabilities.

Victoria House provides a home for people who have finished college life and are learning the skills they need to expand their choices for the future.

Coleg Elidyr and Victoria House have achieved excellent standards that have been recognised by the authorities responsible for monitoring education and care standards. The Trustees, management and staff are focused on continuously improving standards to ensure the long term sustainability of the charity and our communities in an environment of increasing scrutiny and cost challenges.

To enable continued success of the communities, we wish to recruit additional Trustees with particular experience and skills in finance, education and charity funding.

The Trustees meet five times per annum at Coleg Elidyr or Victoria House. Trustees are required to undertake a minimum of two site visits during the year in addition to attending Trustees meetings. They are also required to undergo training to ensure they are fully aware of how the communities function and their responsibilities as a Trustee of the charity.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates in the fields of finance, education, care and charity funding. Candidates are likely to have had successful careers in business or charity management and meet the Trustee requirements of the Charities Commission and those of a company director as outlined in the Companies Act.

Ideally, candidates should be resident in Wales but this is not essential. All suitable candidates will be given equal consideration regardless of where they reside. Applications should be sent to:
