SALARY: £32,000 - £38,000 + Car Allowance + Benefits

 

AREA COVERED: You will be required to cover the main site near Maidstone, Kent for part of the week. However, this is a regional role and you will need to visit other sites and business units based in Southern England.

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Regional HR Advisor / Human Resources Officer with in-depth knowledge of employment law, employee relations, compensation and benefits, training and development and experience implementing policies, procedures and best practice.

Working as the Regional HR Advisor / Human Resources Officer you will provide support, guidance and professional advice to the Company’s business units in Southern England.

As the Regional HR Advisor / Human Resources Officer you will work as a business partner for the Company’s middle management providing specialist services covering Employee Relations and Employment Law Issues, Performance Management, Organisational Design, Recruitment and Retention, Compensation and Benefits, Training and Development, and interpretation of Policies, Procedures and Best Practices within the business.

Your duties and responsibilities as the Regional HR Advisor / Human Resources Officer will also involve liaising with your colleagues to recommend, develop, and maintain Human Resources and Employee communications. You will also support the implementation of Global and EMEA-wide projects and initiatives, including Employee Surveys, the annual performance and merit review processes as well as compensation, bonus, rewards and recognition programs. This includes developing and supporting People Management strategies and actions to ensure they are in line with the Company’s Core Values.

DUTIES

  • Provide advice and support to management on Employee relations and employment law issues (e.g., performance improvement plans, discipline letters, termination letters)
  • Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and practices including policy compliance with changes in local legislation or corporate policies.
  • Support management with the implementation of the Performance Management Program, ensuring that goals and objectives are aligned with corporate strategy, check-point and year-end review meetings occur and individual development plans are documented and implemented
  • Support the implementation of organisation changes, including providing input to the review of various organisation designs, documenting position descriptions, developing compensation recommendations and rolling out the changes
  • Support management with compensation and reward and recognition programs, including annual merit reviews and quarterly and year-end bonuses
  • Participate in the coordination of benefits programs, including administration and renewal, and the design and implementation of new benefit programs
  • Coordinate implementation of Annual Employee Survey; provide support to management in the interpretation of results and the development and implementation of Action Plans
  • Develop, deliver and provide support to various training programs and initiatives (e.g., New Hire Orientation, management training)
  • Provide HR support with acquisitions and the implementation of new businesses, locations or other initiatives, as required
  • Lead or provide input to the development of new policies, procedures or programs and assist with specific Human Resources initiatives as required (e.g., changes in local legislation)
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with external vendors
  • Produce Monthly Reports for Management Team and provide input to various Workforce Reporting initiatives
  • Provide input into recruitment strategies and direct support in recruitment
  • Provide input to and support implementation of Global and EMEA-wide projects
  • Assume prime responsibilities for the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Shared Service Centre UK in Manchester
  • Support UK HR Business Partner with employment issues across other parts of the UK, as required
  • Support HR Director UK in employment issues in other EMEA countries, as required

 

IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Detailed knowledge of and practical experience in current Republic of Ireland and UK employment legislation and employee relations
  • Experience with previous TUPE transfers is preferred
  • Technical expertise in various HR and business disciplines e.g. training and development, OD, talent, resourcing/recruitment and reward
  • Excellent organisational skills; ability to prioritise & meet deadlines and multi-task in a fast paced and changing environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong influencing and relationship-building skills and ability to establish credibility as a trusted advisor to the business
  • Resilient and fast paced, with the strength and flexibility to adapt and deliver within a changing and challenging environment. Ability to exercise wise decisions, even in the face of ambiguity
  • Demonstrated project management experience
  • Demonstrated coaching and advisory experience is essential
  • Detailed knowledge of theory, trends and progressive practices in HR
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently, including specific research projects
  • Computer skills, MS Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook  & Database Management
  • Experienced in a highly confidential environment
  • Fluency in English is required
  • Must be qualified to work in the UK and have a clean criminal records check
  • Ability to travel is required
  • Specialised HR training (e.g., post graduate HR college / university program or equivalent). Having a CIPD certification would be extremely desirable
