General Operatives

We are continuously recruiting for General Operatives to join us at our client’s busy food production site based in the Carlisle area.

The main duties of the role include:

• Processing ready-made meals in a chilled environment
• Ensuring there is no contamination of the product and reporting any possible contamination to the supervisor
• Maintaining all equipment and machinery
• Assisting with duties within the packaging area as requested, including packing, loading and unloading     
• Assisting with cleaning duties of all factory areas when required (cleaning machines, rooms, bins, yard areas, sweeping and disposing of rubbish)
• Adhering to all company Health & Safety and Food Hygiene Policies
• Carrying out any other relevant duties as requested by management

Applicants will be responsible for site cleaning both inside and outside the factory, adhering to strict hygiene and Health and safety procedures.

Successful candidates will ideally have experience of working within a food production environment, however this is not essential as full training will be provided.

We have a number of different shifts available:

• Monday to Thursday 6-2pm, 6-1pm on Friday
• Monday to Thursday 2-10pm, 1-8pm on Friday
• Sunday to Thursday 10pm - 6am, 8pm-3am Friday
• Sunday 6am - 6pm or 6pm – 6am
• Saturday 6am - 6pm or 6pm – 6am
• Friday 6pm - 6am

The pay rate is £6.70 per hour (£7.20 per hour for over 25s).
