This is your chance to help shape the digital future of an organisation that touches the lives of every individual and business in the UK.

At HMRC, our ambitious digital programme will create a faster, sleeker and fully inclusive way of operating the nation’s complex tax system.

We are at the forefront of Civil Service innovation.

As a large, established organisation, the challenges of our transformation are complex and rewarding. Helping us to deliver groundbreaking technological change, you will make a far-reaching difference.

Your role

Yours will be a critical role in managing IT services. Working with a range of IT suppliers, you’ll forge strong and productive relationships. Taking responsibility for ensuring the highest levels of service performance, you will drive continuous improvement on a day to day basis.

A true leader and enabler of change, you will engage with a variety of interesting projects.

Ensuring service requirements and costs are fully understood, you’ll enable smooth transitions and manage risks.

In particular, you will play a key part in supporting virtualisation of services into the Cloud.

Your credentials

To be equal to the challenge, you’ll need demonstrable experience or understanding in ITIL Service Management.

If you don’t already hold the ITIL MALC qualification, you must be willing to gain it.

A strong leader and communicator, you have what it takes to make effective decisions and manage a quality service.

Crucially, you are committed to collaboration and partnership working.

Your reward

In return for your dedication, you will enjoy the advantage of excellent benefits including Civil Service pension.

We are committed to supporting your development with structured career

pathways, and opportunities to diversify and gain accredited certifications including ITIL.

We also aim to help you achieve the best possible work-life balance, which means we will consider - but cannot guarantee - requests for alternative working patterns.

What’s more, at our Newcastle office we offer a broad Wellness programme, with a range of sports and social clubs plus an on-site gym.
