Plant Operative

We’re looking for a Plant Operative to come and join us at our Sutton Courtenay Landfill site, Oxfordshire. We’re offering a competitive salary and excellent company benefits. You will be working as part of our Plant Operatives Team operating mobile plant and supporting the acceptance and placement of waste inputs from our customers whilst maintaining the highest levels of Health & Safety.


As one of our Plant Operatives your duties will include:
• Ensure that all actions maintain a safe and healthy environment for self, colleagues and customers by following Health & Safety and PPC Laws
• Ensuring that waste is covered at the end of the shift in order to comply with the requirements of the Environment Agency and the site’s permit.
• Maintaining Company Property and Equipment so that it is fit for purpose
• Ensuring that machinery is serviceable at all times by carrying out specified daily checks, as well as lubricating, refueling and cleaning the machinery
• Reporting any faults or defects for repair or any incidents, dangerous occurrences and near misses
• Promoting Culture of Excellent Customer Service
• Identifying non conforming waste


We’ll need you to have at least one of the following Heavy Plant qualifications:
• Bulldozer
• Tracked Loading Shovel
• Excavator
• Compactor
• Articulated Dumper
• Tractor

You should also have the following experience:
• Experience of working on a waste site
• Experience and knowledge of landfill operations
