A long standing and innovative SEN setting/school near Brighton is looking for a fun and creative teaching assistant to work in their KS3 & 4 department. This position would be working on a 1:1, small group and whole class basis and all applicants must have an understanding of the UK subject curriculum. The school currently educates learners between the ages of 8 and 19years with various SEN statements including Autism, Asperger's and related conditions. The school is a part residential provision and at present there are approx. 30+ pupils on role. The school is situated on large rural grounds and for this reason can offer extensive outdoor opportunities for their learners including horse riding and swimming. The school is commended by pupils, staff, parents and the wider community and has recently been awarded good at local OFSTED. This school is proud to offer a safe environment for all their pupils to explore, grow and develop. Year on Year reports have shown that all pupils make exceptional progress with education and social skills which is the main aim and ambition for the school and their team. Responsibilities:
- Supporting KS3 & 4 learners on a 1:1, small group and classroom basis
- Communicating with parents and carers over pupils' progress and participating in departmental meetings, parents' evenings and whole school training events
