Engineering Estimator

JOB PURPOSE

To support the Production Manager in the day to day running of a sub-contract machining and fabrication business, ensuring service is delivered in line with client requirements.  The successful candidate will be of a technical engineering background with previous experience in an estimating role.

JOB ACTIVITIES

As Engineering Estimator you will be responsible for:

• Reviewing enquiries and preparing estimates in accordance with Redthorn Production Control Systems
• Assessing site requirements
• Conferring and building relationships with prospective customers
• Negotiating and building relationships with material suppliers
• Identifying and proactively addressing technical difficulties
• Preparing works instructions
• Ensuring regulatory and quality standards are continuously maintained and improved
• Supporting the Production Manager in the running of the business

CORE SKILLS

• You must be educated in a relevant discipline

• You must be able to demonstrate a wide range of technical engineering with previous experience in estimating
• Be computer literate
