Giles Food have exciting opportunities available for a Hygiene Crew Member to join the team based in Milton Keynes. Working on a full time, permanent basis, the successful Hygiene Crew Member will receive a competitive salary of £7.70 per hour.

You will be required to work nights on a 4 on 4 off shift structure.

Hygiene Crew Member Job Purpose:

To work as part of a crew ensuring the smooth flow of the hygiene process.

To manage all aspects of work within your prescribed area of control, whilst maintaining a constant focus on health and safety and employee welfare, effectively meet the demands of the customer through focusing on quality and service delivery, t0 cover for the Hygiene Manager in their absence

What will the Hygiene Crew Member be accountable for:

- Clean items of equipment in line with the needs of production following the correct CIC            

- Ensure production equipment and plant is cleaned to the height of company standards and to frequency of hygiene schedules.

- Maintenance of Hygiene schedules     

- Ensure production line is handed back to production in good working order and on time.           

- Maintain cleaning equipment 

- Ensure downtime sheets are correctly signed after Engineers have carried out maintenance

- Removal of waste from factory floor and record in to waste sheets.     

- To ensure all equipment is passed through the wash room in a timely manner and stored/segregated correctly.            

- Clean all food contact baskets and tubs after and prior to production use.         

- Ensure good housekeeping and hygiene standards are maintained in all areas of the factory.

- Clean production lines / plant.

- Empty Bulk Food/Non-Food waste containers from factory floor into designated food waste skips

- Ensure all cleaning equipment is stored in a tidy manner and in the correct location

- It may be an operational requirement to support production and work on the production lines when required.

- You may be called upon to undertake other duties of a hygiene nature dependant on the operational needs Including wash down of key items of equipment and or production lines during product change over

- Communicate and deal with situations as they arise in a timely manner.

- Maintain a working ethic that is sufficient to optimise the line speed at all times.

- Report any Health and Safety issues to Crew Leader or Manufacturing Manager immediately.

- Differentiate between good quality and substandard product. 

- Maintain a good standard of housekeeping to maintain clean working areas at all times

- To undertake any other responsibilities/tasks required by the Crew Leader.    

Qualifications/Experience/Technical Skills the ideal Hygiene Crew Member will have:

- Previous Hygiene experience

- Teamwork

- Communication

- Customer awareness

- Basic English (Crew Member)

- Experience of working with a food manufacturing environment

- To take accountability for actions and work under pressure.                    

- Health and Safety training                                                        

- Organisation and Time Management skills                                                                        

- Time management                                                                      

- Team work

- Fluent in English (Essential for Crew Leader)                                                                                    

- NVQ Level 3

- People Management Experience
