An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Conveyancer to join our busy Residential Conveyancing team, Chester le Street, Monday to Friday – 37.5 hours per week.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience of working within a Residential Conveyancing team.  You will assist with, under close supervision, the running of a caseload of mixed conveyancing files.  Experience of leasehold / freehold and registered / unregistered property work is desirable. 

The successful candidate should be fully proficient in all Microsoft packages.  Previous experience of a case management system is desirable; however, full training will be provided. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for dealing with any incoming telephone calls in a professional and timely manner.  You will be responsible for recording all messages accurately whilst ensuring the messages are also transferred to the paper files. 

You will assist with the running of conveyancing procedures on the firm’s case management system under the supervision of a conveyancing manager. 

You will be required to capture information / data onto the firm’s case management system and run pre and post completion procedures as required.  You will be required to record incoming post onto the case management system, marrying the daily post with the correct files.  In addition you will be required to highlight all matters which require urgent attention and ensure that you maintain both your personal diary and that of you line manager to ensure that client appointments are arranged in a timely manner.

You will be required to maintain the filing system to ensure all dead files are closed / archived within a reasonable period of time, bringing to the attention of the conveyancing managers any balances which require attention to allow the procedure to be completed.

Due to the nature of the role the successful candidate(s) should be flexible in their approach to work.

The successful candidate will have the ability to deal with clients courteously and expeditiously, promoting a favourable image of the firm.   The successful candidate(s) will have the ability to work effectively as a team and be able to communicate professionally at all levels across the firm.
