Trainee Payroll & Tax Assistant

The Role
Payroll
-
Running Payroll
-
Holiday account reconciliation using payroll software and manual Excel systems
-
Process tax code changes, student loan deductions, SSP, SMP and SPP etc
-
Pay elements include: Salaries, Bonuses, commission, expenses, deductions, and pensions
-
Auto-Enrolment compliance
-
Paying salaries and PAYE/National Insurance through online banking for clients
-
Process Starters and leavers, issuing P45's
-
Dealing with penalties and charges and where appropriate making sure these are paid on time
-
Dealing with client and HMRC queries
-
Client management, organising and caring for individual/company financial issues.

Posting month end journals
-
Sorting and organising Client paperwork and documents logically and accurately.
Tax

Preparation of self-assessment tax returns

Assisting senior on various tax assignments
The Person

Exceptionally strong communication skills both written and verbal.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build excellent working relationships and influence others.

Exceptional attention to detail, and highly organised whilst working to tight deadlines.

Strong ability to manage time and tasks.

Self-starter who thrives in a fast paced environment, who can demonstrate the ability to use own initiative and able to drive change.

The ability to work autonomously and be highly organised and methodical.
