Our client is an award winning privately owned specialist trade contractor in the Construction industry.  Established in 1986 the business has experienced a period of continued and sustainable growth.  The two main elements of their business activities are established as distinct operating divisions and represent themselves separately in the marketplace. 

An opportunity has arisen for a (Trainee) Quantity Surveyor to join the team at one of our client’s subsidiary companies based in High Wycombe. 

The company provides site management and on-site installation services primarily to other Group companies. The directly employed workforce of HLS is c 40 people and comprises fully trained and experienced site managers, foremen, carpenters, drywall fixers, partition erectors, ceiling fixers and other trades.

The main purpose of the role is to learn all aspects of the surveying role within the company. For the right candidate support will be given to undertake appropriate professional studies.

The role will involve the following tasks:

• Assist in overseeing the management of projects from conception to completion
• Assist with monitoring progress on site to ensure completion of works within agreed programmes
• Provide support regarding all financial aspects of projects to ensure a successful outcome
• Process sub contract orders and purchase orders for plant and material
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations on site

This role would suit someone who is interested in a career in construction and has experience of or studied towards a qualification in the building trade.

The role will be based in the High Wycombe office and will involve regular travel to site (mainly in Central London).
