Income Officer

Small Heath, Birmingham

Salary: £23,000 per annum following successful 6-month probationary period

Permanent - 37.5 hours per week

A leading social housing provider currently has an exciting opportunity for an Income Officer to join their team based in Small Heath, Birmingham.

This is a key post managing the rent and service charge accounts from beginning to end across a range of tenures. Providing a comprehensive debt recovery service and maximising the Association's rental and service charge income.

Candidate Requirements:

The key knowledge, skills and behaviours required for this Income Officer role are:

  • Experience of working in front line services in Housing Management.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation relating to recovering both current and former tenant arrears
  • Knowledge of Housing Benefit and Welfare entitlements.
  • Knowledge and experience of providing debt advice
  • Ability to use appropriate software to prepare various types of legal applications to court.
  • Experience of working with vulnerable client groups
  • Flexible, approachable, positive and enthusiastic
  • Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing
