Outreach Case Worker - Polish speaker

Oxford

37.5hrs per week

Our vision is that everyone has a place to call home and can fulfil their hopes and ambitions.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our dynamic street outreach team in Oxford. We work across the city delivering shifts on the streets, drop-ins in local day centres, and work with accommodation providers and the local authority to reduce rough sleeping to as close to zero as possible. Many of our clients are Migrants from Eastern Europe or beyond and part of your role will be to work with this group. In response to this, we are seeking someone who is able to speak Polish.

This will involve liaising with key services - including police and the department of work and pensions, and services throughout the UK and Europe. The role involves making contact with all rough sleepers and those at risk of homelessness, assessing their needs and delivering personalised case management to support them to make the move away from the streets and/or street lifestyles for good.

The successful candidate will have experience of working with vulnerable adults in a social care, health, community safety or housing setting. You will also have a working knowledge of the rights of EEA and other Migrants, along with the ability to communicate in writing and speak fluent Polish. The ability to drive a car and hold a clean driving license is also essential, while being able to speak another Eastern European language would be advantageous.

This is an exciting role, working across health, housing, treatment and immigration issues with some of Oxford's most vulnerable individuals working for the UK's premier homelessness and outreach agency.

In return, we offer a range of benefits including a pension scheme, staff discounts scheme and flexible working to help you maintain a healthy work/life balance. We are also committed to providing our staff with a wide range of learning and development opportunities; in support of their personal and professional development

If you believe that you have what we are looking for, and have an interest in working for a charity which makes a real difference to the lives of people who are homeless, we would love to hear from you.

Please note that the pattern of work is based on shift rota hours, including working early mornings, late nights and at weekends

Closing date: 10.00am, 16th September 2016

Equality, diversity and inclusion are central to the organisation's values and how we work. We are in the top 100 of Stonewall's Workplace Equality Index 2016.
