JOB TITLE: Butchery Team Leader
SALARY: GBP10.50 per hour

THE COMPANY: Our client is a family run business, established for over 40 years are now one of the largest employers within the area whilst remaining true to it's family roots. They now boast a range of businesses which include Service stations, Hotels and a visitors centre.

Butchery Team Leader - Tebay, Cumbria

Due to the continued success of the business this is Butchery Team Leader position is newly created within our clients company. You will be responsible for overseeing the smooth running of the shift and offer excellent customer service at all times, whilst managing your team.

Key responsibilities:
  • To co-ordinate team to deliver great service, standards and availability
  • Communicate our values and meat policy to customers and the team
  • To maximise productivity by prioritising and allocating daily task to team
  • Re-acts to unexpected changes of trade levels adjusting as appropriate
  • Provide customers with specialist knowledge and advice on the products on offer in the Butchery
  • To replenish counters and multi-deck throughout the day to ensure the best availability of our products
  • To Maintain presentation and cleanliness standards in the Butchery
  • Assist in the training and development of other team members
  • To undertake any further training deemed necessary by your line manager

THE CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate for this position will have experience of working as a Butcher ideally in a customer facing environment. You will have a strong knowledge of the food industry, and of food safety standards. As a Butchery Team Leader you will be required to be self motivated, passionate about your service and live within a commutable distance to Tebay.


Key experience essential for the role:
  • To be a fully trained/qualified Butcher
  • Ideally to hold management experience
  • Excellent knowledge of food safety standards and the ability to adhere to these
  • Good level of physical fitness
  • Ability to work well as part of a team in a fast paced environment
  • Able to successful manage a small team
