Standards & Specifications Engineer
Valero Pembroke Refinery currently has an opportunity to recruit a Standards & Specifications Engineer within the Technical Department based at Pembroke.
The Role:
The role of Standards and Specifications Engineer forms an important SME function to the Operating Complexes and Projects group to assess all equipment standards issues and Valero and EPC Contractor technical queries. The role is to ensure that the correct technical specifications are referenced and to address the requirements of all applicable regulations and statutory instruments to ensure the relevant national, international and company standards are captured.
The Candidate:
- Mechanical or Materials Engineering Master or Bachelor with Honours Degree with Chartered or Incorporated membership of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE). Engineering Technician membership may be considered as an alternative
- Active membership of the IMechE participating in the Institute’s Development program
- Oil and gas or related industry experience as a Mechanical or Materials Engineer, preferably in a lead position in reliability, integrity or inspection
- Knowledge in the application of ASME VIII D1 and D2 and ASME B31.1 and 31.3
- Experience in a Lead Engineering design role and familiar with API, ASTM and BS EN Standards and specifications of refinery and process plant materials, equipment and piping components
- Experience with the management and maintenance of company standards to ensure compliance with European and National regulations
- Mentor junior Engineers and Industrial placement students as appropriate
