Quality Engineer (Contract) 
Ebbw Vale, Blaenau Gwent

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Quality Engineer to join our client, a leading international automotive supplier for an engaging contract which has the strong possibility of becoming a permanent position for the right candidate.

As a Quality Engineer, you will be tasked with overseeing the day-to-day activities within the Quality Department and Shop Floor, as well as assisting with any production-related quality issues. 

Supervising the Quality Line Controller and Auditors, you will ensure that quality procedures are correctly applied and maintained. You’ll liaise with customers and suppliers to provide a full and timely response to any concerns and ensure that a high level of customer satisfaction is delivered. 

Your other duties will include: 

- Raising quality documentation, such as 8D reports, PPAP and APQP 
- Supporting FMEA activities 
- Reducing customer and internal PPM ratings 
- Carrying out internal quality system, product and process audits 

Interested? To be considered for this role, you must have: 

- At least five years’ experience in a quality assurance role 
- Experience of quality systems, including ISO 9001, QS 9000, TS 16949 and VDA standards and applicable regulatory requirements 
- Previous experience of using SAP and customer portals 
- Knowledge of FMEA 
- Knowledge of SPC 

As a Quality Engineer, you must have strong planning, analytical and problem solving skills, as well as a customer focused approach. Excellent attention to detail is also key. 

Whilst not essential, automotive experience would be beneficial to your application, as would knowledge of CMM programming. Knowledge of how SAP works would also be advantageous.
