DOMESTIC BURSAR
Salary range: £47,801 to £60,512 pa
The College wishes to appoint a Domestic Bursar to be in post at the start of February 2017; co-inciding with the retirement of the current Domus Bursar. The Domestic Bursar is a senior administrative position with responsibility for the operational management of the College.
The challenge of the job will be to effectively manage a trade-off between delivering operational efficiency, developing the catering and accommodation business, and the educational mission of the College. A key to the role is nurturing a culture of good customer service amongst College staff.
This is a permanent post and the salary will be at a fixed point on a scale ranging from points 56 to 64 on the University's single salary spine currently equating to £47,801 to £60,512 pa. Salary progression within this range is discretionary.
The post is pensionable under the Universities' superannuation scheme (USS) and carries an annual leave entitlement of 33 days including public holidays. The successful candidate will have proven leadership; interpersonal and organisational skills, and potentially possess a background in senior management in the catering or hospitality sector.
Excellent financial awareness and the ability to inspire confidence at all levels will be important as will experience in delivering successful change management in a diverse and changing environment.
