Our technology division is responsible for ensuring effective and efficient ICT services for the organisation. This includes providing a reliable and fit for purpose ICT infrastructure across the three sites, working with individual divisions to provide appropriate solutions to meet their business needs and ensuring adequate access controls, integrity and resilience of the organisation's information data.
The Application Support Analyst Role:
An exciting position has opened up within the ICT team providing support for our Centre for Therapeutics Discovery, who has recently relocated to a new facility on the Stevenage Bioscience Catalyst site.
This role will provide IT services and support to our scientific services, specialising in the management of 2/3 tier application services, hardware and project management. The role will also involve adding value to the existing services portfolio through development of protocols, reports and scripts along with providing the documentation to support it.
About You:
The ideal candidate will have proven experienced in the management of 2/3 Tier database driven services along with extensive experience with Windows networking, domain administration, Linux, Virtualisation and IT infrastructure support. Practical experience working with large datasets would be an advantage.
Educated to at least degree level or equivalent, you should have proficiency with SQL and other scripting languages, along with considerable data management experience. Experience of working within recognised frameworks including ITIL is also desirable.
Other aspects of the role require you to have demonstrable analytical and technical planning skills with low to medium risk project management experience, coupled with effective communication skills for presentations, preparation of relevant documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Working closely with the business you will also need the ability to explain complex ideas clearly.
