Relief Security Officer

Relief Security Officer We are currently seeking a Relief Retail Security Officer to provide cover a number of Shopping Centres across South Wales.

The position guarantees 80 hours per month, however, there may be the opportunity for additional shifts. The candidate needs to be flexible and available to work at short notice, although planned cover will be a key element. Shifts will include a mixture of Days, Weekends and Public/Bank Holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide cover for absences, annual leave and ad-hoc work
• Act as a visible deterrent against theft, anti-social behaviour, creating a safe, secure and welcoming shopping environment for our client’s customers and staff
• Undertake patrols and inspections in accordance with Assignment Instructions
• Ensure all Health & Safety policies are adhered to
• In addition to this you will be required to undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required

Knowledge skills & experience

• Must hold a valid SIA Licence
• Full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle desirable
• Flexible and willing to mobilise at short notice
• CCTV license preferred but not essential
• Clear communication both written and verbal
• Reliable with excellent time-management skills
• Able to demonstrate a high standard of customer service
• Ability to provide a fully comprehensive 5 year work/education history
• Previous Corporate Security Experience preferred
• IT literate
• First Aid certificate at work preferred but not essential

• Ability to focus on best practice, the SO will use his/her creative approach and personality to influence at all levels to meet demanding targets and deadlines.
• Good verbal and written communication skills. Able to articulate clearly and credibly with the client, senior managers and all staff.
• Capability to work unsupervised and take responsibility
• Aptitude to remain calm under pressure
• Smart appearance
