Calsonic Kansei has a unique opportunity available for a Senior Human Resource Officer to join the team in Llanelli. The role is a full time, permanent position offering a salary of £31,579 - £34,140 per annum.

Headquartered in the UK, with operations spread throughout Europe in Spain, Romania, Russia, France and Germany, Calsonic Kansei Europe is positioned to meet the key needs of our European customers.

We are seeking a Senior Human Resource Officer to join a busy HR team in a fast paced unionised manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Human Resource Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the Human Resource function at the Llanelli and Millbrook (Bedfordshire) sites.

What are the responsibilities of the Senior Human Resource Officer?

- Take ownership and delivery of all HR functions to ensure organisational effectiveness by supporting line managers to acquire, develop and manage people through the implementation of HR policies & procedures in line with legal requirements, company standards and current best practice.

- Support line managers in the practical application of these processes in accordance with the company procedures and legislation to ensure consistency of approach.

- Ensure appropriate HR records and documentation / letters are issued and maintained.

- Provide proactive advice, mentoring and guidance to line managers on a range of company policies which impact on the management of their people.

- Coordinate current and future recruitment requirements.

- Develop and implement systems to ensure efficient and effective processing and management of HR information

- Undertake any allocated or ad-hoc HR projects from the HR Manager.

- Design and delivery of line manager training, and responsibility for the effective delivery of the new joiner induction process.

Skills & Experience required by the Senior Human Resource Officer:

- Preferably CIPD qualified, with a strong HR generalist background. 

- Good IT skills (Microsoft office)

- Excellent organisational and communication skills.

- Good thorough knowledge of UK Employment legislation and application. 

- An awareness of the need for confidentiality and sensitivity is a must.

-  The ability to work under pressure and to agreed timescales is essential.

- Previous experience of the supervision of payroll (Outsourced) would be an advantage.

-  Previous experience working within a small HR team where you need to use your own initiative and pick up your own HR administration.

- Must be able to travel to our site based in Millbrook and Bedfordshire on a monthly basis.

- Strong experience in Employee Relations, including grievance, disciplinary and performance management.

- Experience in writing, updating and implementing new HR policy, procedure and best practice.

- Have the aptitude and desire to work in a busy, fast paced HR Department

- Has strong prioritisation skills to deal with high volume workloads and complete tasks on time despite frequent interruptions.

- Remains calm under pressurised situations, and can cope with complex scenarios.

- Confident and a clear communicator.

- Passionate about providing a great HR service and support to the business.

- Forward thinking, and enjoys change and continuous improvement.

- Decisive and quick thinker when faced with a wide variety of queries and people matters.

- Must be able to perform a variety of duties being resourceful and maintaining flexibility.

Working Hours:

- 39 hours per week Monday – Friday (early finish on a Friday). Additional hours are expected to be worked in line with business requirements.
