Student Welfare and Advocacy Co-ordinator - Student Support Team
Salary: GBP per annum
Hours: 35 hours / week (Monday-Friday 9am-5pm)
Contract type: Fulltime, permanent
Location: Predominantly at King's Cross site but responsible for the College
We are looking for an expert in youth advocacy to deliver targeted, impartial advice and guidance to students. You will take an active role in removing barriers to learning including homelessness and welfare-related concerns. Furthermore you will take a lead in safeguarding for students aged 16- 18 and work with academic and support staff to ensure vulnerable students are appropriately supported.
While you will report to the Learner Services Manager, you will work in a collaborative manner in an integrated student support team including mental health and welfare, disability services and careers across WKC's four main teaching sites.
You will have substantial experience in supporting vulnerable students including working with social services, local authorities, the police, legal advisory services and medical professionals. Confident in your excellent analytical and communication skills you will be able to communicate problems and challenges effectively with all stakeholders.
