Junior Software Engineer

Our client has a long history of developing their own applications for the Education and Skills, and Public Safety sectors. Over the past five years they have also offered products based on the Microsoft Dynamics CRM platform to these sectors. The anticipated growth over the coming year within the Education and Skills sector, and particularly for the MS Dynamics CRM products, means has led to the need for an enthusiastic and self-motivated junior developer to join their small, highly-skilled development team based at their head office in Basingstoke.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain new skills while having exposure to the full development lifecycle – from understanding business requirements, through to hands-on development, installation and third line support.

Responsibilities will include maintaining and developing the existing web-based and desktop software systems whilst having the opportunity to be involved in the development of new products.

Essential skills and experience:

• Computer Science degree or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years commercial experience using C# and .NET with Visual Studio
• Good organisational and communication skills

Desirable skills and experience (training will be provided where necessary):

• MVC or WebForms
• HTML, CSS and JavaScript (jQuery)
• Experience of WinForms and/or WPF
• SQL - SQL-Server, MySql etc
• XML
• Unit testing with MSTest
• Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 or later
• Agile (scrum)
