AV Installation Engineer
Birmingham based (Occasional nationwide work)

Our client is a CEDIA accredited high-end home technology and commercial AV company, based in Birmingham covering the entire UK but working mostly in the local area. 

They are now recruiting for an experienced AV Installation Engineer to join their growing company as a fantastic long term opportunity has arisen. The role 
As AV Installation Engineer your role involves working as part of a team, carrying out the installation of high-end audio-visual, home automation systems and commercial AV Systems. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and dynamic professional, with on-site installation experience and thorough knowledge of audio-visual distribution, using home automation hardware and software. They will be intelligent, honest, hardworking, practical, well-mannered and agile.

Who are we looking for?
•    Good practical skills and an understanding of construction techniques in a residential or commercial environment; to include working with power tools and SDS
•    Be an efficient and hardworking individual, able to stay calm under pressure and understand that work must be completed to a deadline
•    Is generally fit and agile and capable of lifting heavy items such as TV's, crawling through lofts and under floor spaces; confident on ladders, towers and working at heights
•    Is a team player and willing to put themselves out and get stuck in with anything that comes their way and possesses the ability to work under one's own initiative imperative
•    Full UK driving licence is essential & own transport desirable

Successful candidate will be well-versed in the good majority of the duties listed below
•    At least 1 years AV installation experience, preferably within a CEDIA accredited company
•    Experience in MOST of the following areas: first fix of structured cabling systems, multi-room audio-visual systems, high-end home cinema, Lighting control systems, Control4 (or other control systems), mechanical automation, satellite systems, IT, telephony, TCP/IP and networking
•    Excellent practical skills and an understanding of construction techniques in a residential environment a must: able to fit flat-panel screens, projectors, install in wall keypads, in-wall speakers, in-ceiling speakers and have the relevant construction experience to do this
•    Fully capability with power tools imperative; SDS drills and fixings
