Play a key role in supporting the process that allows doctors to practice medicine in the UK.

The General Medical Council (GMC) helps to protect patients and improve medical education and practice in the UK by setting standards for students and doctors.

We support them in achieving (and exceeding) those standards, and take action when they are not met.

You will provide administrative support to the team which processes applications from doctors who want to practice in the UK.

We will look to you to maintain records and ensure applications are processed in line with established policy and procedure. Crucially, you’ll also provide an excellent level of customer service to doctors and colleagues - from supporting the applications manager, to contacting doctors by telephone and in writing throughout the application process.

To join us, you’ll need to be a highly organised individual with skills in the use of IT systems including the Microsoft Office suite.

A commitment to accuracy in your work and a good understanding of confidentiality are both essential requirements.

It is your communication skills and way with people that really set you apart. Committed to delivering a high level of customer service, you have a demonstrable ability to build professional relationships.

Whether in person or in writing, you can communicate effectively with a wide range of people including colleagues and doctors.

In return, you’ll benefit from being part of an organisation that is genuinely committed to its people.

We offer an attractive salary and benefits package.

Closing date: 6 September 2016 at midnight.
