Civil Enforcement Officer / Traffic and Parking Management

Job Title: Civil Enforcement Officer

Location: Chelmsford

Salary: Starting at £18,807 per annum and rising to £20,724

This role will require you to assist with the safe and free flow of traffic by patrolling controlled parking areas and issuing Penalty Charge Notices to vehicles which are in contravention of the parking restrictions.

You will need to have a full understanding of the legislation of the Traffic Management Act 2004 and take part in the relevant training in order to gain a recognised parking enforcement qualification. The ideal candidate will be able to work on their own initiative and demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with the public in an enforcement environment.

There are two positions available, one based and working in the Basildon area and one based and working in the Castle Point* area. On occasions you may be required to carry out duties at various locations within the South Essex Parking Partnership area.

The successful applicant will be required to work 37 hours per week on a shift rota, based on a five day working week (Monday to Saturday) between 08.00 and 20.00 hours.

*During April and September there will be a requirement to work some Sundays and Bank Holidays due to seasonal restrictions for the Castle Point job.
