Senior Data Scientist

If you're a data scientist whose fed up of roles where your sole objective is to make an incremental increase in conversion rate of e-mails or you're burying through deadly dull financial data this is the role for you.

You will be joining a small, hip startup with fantastic, fun offices in central London with the objective of bringing data science to the field of content marketing. Data science is at the heart of what they do, and in this pivotal role you'll be making a strategic contribution to the company and their success. Their ultimate ambition is to use data science to change an industry. They are working with cutting-edge algorithms and social data to produce insights around communities from gamers to hipsters to mamils and have investment from some of the top names in the VC space.

You will have the responsibility of:
- deciding their data science strategy and approach
- applying various data science algorithms to their (mainly social) datasets
- managing the the data science team (currently one junior data scientist, but this will expand over time)

In terms of skills you will have most or all of the following:
- fundamental knowledge of statistics - p-values, distributions, ANOVA etc
- ability to use and tune various machine learning algorithms from SVM to random forest to neural networks
- graph/network experience - eg with algorithms such as PageRank or community detection
- natural language processing - such as nltk or topic modelling
- experience using Big Data with tools such as Spark
- ability to work in unbounded domains with soft requirements and problem boundaries
- coding experience and intimate knowledge of relevant open-source libraries in Python or Scala
