Open since August 2007, Capel Court extraCare scheme allows frail older people to live independently in their own self-contained apartment with access to a home care service who are permanently based on site.

The scheme consists of 40 apartments, 32 of which are 1-bedroomed, the remainder are 2-bedroomed. Facilities include communal space for social activities, a shop, hairdressing salon, library and assisted bathing facilities.

Each apartment is wheelchair accessible and has an ensuite bathroom and fitted kitchen. A scheme manager and care manager work closely to ensure that a high quality service is provided for the tenants and that the care package they receive is tailored towards their specific needs.

We are looking to recruit a Food Service Assistant to join our highly motivated team, to assist the Chef in preparing meals for residents; ensuring high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained throughout the kitchen and dining room.

Specific duties will include:

• Assisting in the preparation of the dining areas prior to the service of meals.
• Setting up and cleaning tables, washing up and serving meals.

You will enjoy working in a team and have a positive attitude to supporting your colleagues and the residents. You will also take pride in cleanliness and organisation on shift, understanding that Health and Safety and Food Safety are essential in the workplace. You must also be passionate about food and customer service, ideally have worked in a similar role and be expected to work some weekends.
