Depute Head Teacher, Offsite Education Service
Based at Offsite Education Service (Rockwell Learning Centre), working full time, 35 hours per week. Previous applicants need not re-apply.
You will be GTCS Registered (Secondary), with a proven record as a teacher, including work with pupils who present challenging behaviour.
As part of the Offsite Education Service senior management team, you will assist the Head Teacher, Offsite Education Service, in the development and maintenance of a first class offsite education service, in line with policies and plans of the Children and Families Service.
You will have proven experience as a Depute Head Teacher/Principal Teacher, and of improving outcomes for children and young people with social and emotional needs who present behavioural challenges. You will have evidence of a wide knowledge of curriculum development and implementation, including ASN legislation/practice and SEBN matters, proven and successful experience in leading developments (curricular and staff development), including National Priorities and quality assurance within an SEBN setting/environment and knowledge and understanding of SEBN and related assessment/intervention strategies. Knowledge, understanding and involvement in current educational developments and evidence of appropriate professional learning in a range of areas are also required, along with a willingness to keep up to date and learn and to participate in the life of the school/service. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
