TECHNICAL OFFICER (Building Surveyor) 37 HOURS PER WEEK SALARY £ 24,768- £ 27,413 PA
Bridgend County Care and Repair assists older people and people with disabilities to repair and adapt their homes, and enable them to live as independently for as long as possible in their own communities.
We are seeking to appoint a Technical Officer who is highly motivated with an ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. You will have a minimum of 3 years experience of disabled adaptations schemes and property refurbishment with a Local Authority, Care and Repair Agency or similar environment. It is essential that you possess a minimum HNC in Building studies or equal, and a sound knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015. Experience using CAD would be an advantage.
Your core role will be identifying property defects and compiling attendant specifications; providing advice in relation to remedial solutions; and be responsible for schemes from post tender stage through site supervision to completion and processing final accounts. Knowledge of Local Authority Grants system would be a distinct advantage as would experience of working with older/disabled people. You will be required to have access to a car and possess a full driving licence.
