Operations Manager – Crisis and Emergency Response
Refusing to ignore people in crisis
Being an operations manager for the British Red Cross independent living and crisis response service is a great opportunity to use your leadership and management skills to make a real difference.
As a key member of the service, your work will play a vital part in responding to the needs of people in crisis following an emergency.
We are reshaping the way we deliver our services in the UK, so it is an exciting time to join us.
As emergency response operations manager, you will oversee and lead all aspects of Red Cross emergency response planning across Wales.
You will be pivotal in developing our national and local external relationships with our statutory and voluntary sector partners, ensuring that we are the ‘go to’ organisation supporting the people of Wales in an emergency.
You will lead a small staff team ensuring the development and support of a skilled and committed volunteer team and the implementation of our UK emergency response strategy in Wales.
The post requires regular evening work, being part of a regular 24 hour duty officer on-call rota and potential emergency response duties at any time throughout the year.
To be successful in this role you will need experience of managing projects and a team as well as experience of liaising with statutory and voluntary agencies and local government.
The ability to prepare, manage and monitor budgets and contribute to the development and achievement of operating plans is also important.
We appreciate the efforts each individual makes to keep our organisation running smoothly and efficiently.
As a result we offer a wide range of staff benefits.
These include:
- 36 day's annual leave (incl bank holidays) (pro rata for part-time staff)
- Up to 6% contributory pension
- Childcare vouchers
Closing date: 4 September 2016.
