Quarry Heavy Plant Machine Operator
Minimum Salary: £10.15 per hour
Maximum Salary: £12.41 per hour
Job Location: Accrington, Lancashire
To operate the company's Plant and Heavy Equipment (where licensed, authorised and instructed) in a safe and effective manner. Heavy equipment may include ADT's, 360-Excavators and front-end loaders, dozers, graders, back-hoes, compactors and other pieces of equipment.
To perform driving duties in connection with the operation of company machinery / plant at company sites or on client contracts. Duties will also include any assistance that may reasonably be required by the company from time to time, and may not be quarry / plant related.
The post holder is responsible to the Quarry Manager on company Sites and Plant & Contracts Manager when out on hire. The post holder is responsible for any plant or machinery or equipment allocated for the purposes of carrying out their role.
This involves working as part of a small team and include duties connected with quarry or plant operations at a variety of locations / sites.
Working Hours / Days - Basic 40 hours plus overtime Monday to Friday, Saturdays where customer / production needs demand (average 47.5 - 53 hours per week).
Qualifications and Experience
- CPCS licence to enable them to operate the plant / machines assigned to by the company.
- Be able to demonstrate by providing personal and specific examples that they have previous experience of operating the plant/machines the company will expect the post-holder to operate.

- Knowledge of the legislation and regulations relating to plant operation.
- An awareness of Health and Safety legislation in and its application in relation to self, other employees, the public and the workplace.
- Ability to understand and follow straightforward spoken and written instructions.
- Able to keep basic work records.
- Adapts to change by adopting a flexible and cooperative attitude.
