Sales Manager
An excellent opportunity for a results-oriented, driven Sales Manager to lead a team of internal and external Sales Executives to join Datakom, our energetic and growing business based in Bridgend, Mid Glamorgan.
You will have a proven track record of successfully delivering and exceeding sales targets both personally and for a team. You will be strategic; someone who can see not only the bigger picture but is also able to put steps in place ensuring success across the entire business. We are a well-established telecommunications company based in Bridgend, Mid Glamorgan and are looking for someone who will partner with us to ensure the long term success of our business and customers.
As Sales Manager you will be responsible for obtaining profitable results through both internal and external Sales Account Managers and telesales team. With a focus on developing the team through training programs, motivation, skills development and product knowledge, as well as embracing the company culture of a dedicated and friendly working environment. Working alongside the Managing Director you will develop and execute the business plan covering sales, revenue and expense controls. Management of sales targets, KPI’s and budgets through performance reporting and administrative sales functions to achieve and exceed KPI’s, realise new business and drive sales. You will be tasked to work closely with our Marketing Manager to ensure all campaigns and initiatives are rolled-out across the Sales team and implemented across the business - monitoring and analysing to maximise sales and leads. As Sales Manager you will be the first line of communication for any escalated customer issues or complaints, as well as encouraging positive long-term relationships between customers and Sales Account Managers. As part of the Management team you will be required to present sales figures, reporting analysis / data, feeding back on a regular basis.
As a Sales Manager your duties and responsibilities will be:
- Work with Marketing department to ensure campaigns are executed with all potential opportunities maximised.
- Collaborate with sales leadership to create and train lead qualification process.
- Hire high-performing sales people according to HR staffing guidelines; train new hires to ensure success.
- Manage day-to-day performance of all Sales team members (including internal, external sales account managers and telesales teams); deliver quarterly performance reviews.
- Work with marketing to come up with new ideas and campaigns to support and drive sales plans and initiatives.
- Lead and schedule weekly and / or monthly team meetings with sales team.
- Track metrics and report findings within the Management team meetings on a regular basis.
- Coach and develop direct reports.
- Responsible for customer data files for marketing campaigns.
- Implement performance plans according to Company procedure.
- Collaborate with IT on sales technology initiatives.
- Meet pre-determined revenue goals through the activities of direct reports.
- Ensure correct usage of CRM and other sales applications.
- Train and ensure adherence to sales process.
- Set and agree sales targets, forecasts and budgets. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual business plans including KPI’s.
An ideal Sales Manager will have the following skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business.
- Significant experience in a sales based role; within industry preferred.
- Proven track record of prior Sales management / supervisory role.
- Experienced in developing a strong and cohesive team.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Hardworking, persistent, and dependable.
- Positive and enthusiastic.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills; Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.
Experience in the telecoms industry is desirable but not essential.
