Our Contract Manager will do the following:
As a Contract Manager for FCC Environment you will be responsible for the operation, management and overall performance of the 3 HWRC’s and 1 Transfer Station in Neath Port Talbot and assist with other HWRC’s within south Wales, to include all associated transport. Your role will involve:
• To ensure all contract obligations are fulfilled, including all associated site improvements, recycling rates, contract reporting, the development of new recycling initiatives, including reuse shops, along with ISO accreditations
• To develop, implement and audit ISO 9001, 14001 and OHAS 18001 Integrated Management Systems across all sites, ensuring consistent standards and understanding
• Collate and report KPI data which will provide insights into the effectiveness of FCC’s policies
• Ensure the operation’s drivers comply with EU drivers’ hours regulations (561/2006 & 3821/85) and UK Working Time Directive
• Monitor vehicle management and maintenance, efficiency and operating licences
• To ensure that appropriate systems are established and adhered to for the repair and maintenance of all vehicles and equipment/plant in accordance with the company policies and health & safety legislation
• Carry out risk assessment and develop safe systems of work and ensure a safe working environment in maintained.
• To facilitate the development of an open culture that is conducive to all colleagues making maximum contribution to the business within their range of skills and abilities
• Monitor and control operations to ensure the achievement of budgeted revenue, operating profit and cash targets.
• To carry out operational cost reporting and prepare effective forecasts and budgeting
• To manage and control all capital and provisions expenditure on all Contract Sites in order to deliver the required EBITDAP financial performance.
• To carry out regular security inspections on all Sites and take remedial action where necessary
• To be fully aware of planning consents and waste disposal permits relating to the Sites and ensure they are not breached

We need our Contract Manager to:
• Be experienced in HWRC and Transfer Station management
• Have a proven track record in environmental management and contract management roles
• Hold a transport manager CPC qualification
• Hold a COTC qualification
• Numerate and IT literate with the ability to use management information effectively
• Experienced in a professional and disciplined management environment, working alongside operational teams ensuring performance expectations, service standards and people development are met
• Able to work in a fast paced and demanding work environment, able to identify and implement beneficial change programs where required

First class communication and interpersonal skills are a must, whilst being commercially astute and results orientated, decisive and responsible, collaborative and supportive.

Our Contract Manager will need a ‘leadership’ outlook, with the desire to coach their team and broaden their knowledge to increase drive and success. You should be confident in your ability to re-evaluate prioritise, responding quickly and positively to change and use your business skills and intellect to assist in the operational strategic direction of FCC.
