Position: Financial Accountant
Location: Salfords, Surrey
Salary: £53,000 - £55,000

The Financial Accountant Role:
Directly manage and coordinate the finance department in the performance of the month end reporting and related processes.
Provide expert support and guidance for the financial reporting tools (Hyperion) and financial elements of the ERP system (Navision).
Ensure the finance department is compliant with internal control requirements.
Work effectively and interact with numerous staff across all departments.

Key Responsibilities of the Financial Accountant:
- Manage and coordinate the month end close process, including the performance of many tasks
- Expert user of financial reporting packages (HFM, FDM, Navision)
- Responsible for the integrity of the various balance sheets
- Responsible for internal controls compliance evidence (Sarbannes Oxley)
- Responsible for VAT returns and associated reports, and ensuring compliance with the regulations
- Participate in external reporting and corporation tax requirements
- Deputise for the financial controller as required
- Numerous and various other finance related activities as required.
- Manage and supervise the accounts payable department and its performance.
- Manage the month end close process
- Produce the monthly accounts
- Perform the various FDM/HFM data loads
- Provide analysis and answers to finance related queries
- Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled, and perform numerous reconciliations
- Complete VAT, Intrastat, EC sales list and statistical returns on time
- Participate in producing the various monthly forecasts
- Coordinate and complete the quarterly reporting finance schedules
- Manage the SOX evidence requirements
- Play a leading role in the annual audit process, both for group reporting and UK reporting
- Play a leading role in the development and interaction of business processes with the Navision ERP
- Play a leading role in the training and education of staff in finance related business process changes
- Participate in producing the annual financial statements, corporation tax returns and tax forecasts
Experience & Attributes Required:
- Able to work and act with initiative in a frequently changing work environment
- Able to cope with the pressure of multiple, conflicting priorities
- Able to present information clearly, concisely; informally and to larger audiences
Qualification:
- Minimum ACCA qualified or equivalent
- Experienced in the use of ERP and financial reporting systems (Hyperion)
- Up to date with VAT regulations
