Due to successful growth, Bensons for Beds, Britain’s favourite bed specialist have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and self-driven Assistant Team Leader to join our Purchase Ledger team on a full time basis.

As   our Assistant Team leader you will process supplier invoices for stock and returns as well as provide support to assist the Purchase Ledger Team leader, ensuring that all supplier stock invoices are processed and paid according to payment terms

Your key responsibilities and duties as our Assistant Team leader will include:

  • Day to day supervision of the stock element of the purchase ledger, including DHD (Direct Home Delivery).
  • Ensuring that month end deadlines are met.
  • Updating the weekly working files for MSR’s / Credits due / unmatched items.
  • Emailing suppliers with a monthly update of returns not credited.
  • Resolve any invoice matching differences, and raise discrepancies for authorisation.
  • Assisting with Monthly / Weekly Bacs payment runs as required by the Team Leader.
  • Maintain the foreign stock payment file
  • Take phone calls from suppliers and deal with queries as they arise, ensuring satisfactory conclusion for the supplier
  • Attend monthly team review meetings
  • Handle escalated   queries including those relating to DHD, to provide a resolution.

 
What   makes you the perfect Purchase Ledger Assistant Team Leader?
 

You will demonstrate excellent   interpersonal skills, and be able to influence and persuade at all levels.

 

IT literate with working knowledge of a financial accounting package, ideally CODA.

Experience of working in a high volume purchase ledger processing environment.

Experience in purchase invoice matching (EDI invoice lines to GR Lines).

Experience in processing stock invoices, and knowledge / understanding of stock control procedures.

Good working knowledge of Excel   (VLOOKUPS, SUMIF, Pivot tables).
