Our client was founded in 1969 in the City of Coventry, which is situated in the heart of the Industrial Midlands and today occupies a modern 80,000 sq. ft. factory employing in excess of 150 people. Substantial investment has resulted in manufacturing facilities utilising the latest technology. Our client is currently looking for someone to fill the role of CNC Setter Operator.
With over 40 years of experience in the engineering industry, our client supplies to Bus and Coach, Truck, Utility, specialist, Off Highway and Military vehicle manufacturers around the world and have sales offices in the UK, USA and Germany. Their company philosophy is that investment in people is as important as investment in new technology.
Job Purpose / Objectives:
- To set and operate machines and processes in a safe and efficient manner.
- To produce parts in accordance with route cards and technical drawings,
- Ensure all parts are produced to schedule requirements and quality standards.
- Work in adherence to the departmental procedures to achieve best in class service and maintain company quality procedures;
Job Responsibilities and Major Activities / Tasks:
- To set and operate production machines, equipment and auxiliary equipment (where trained) ensuring setting and run targets are achieved;
- To carry out off-set changes, tooling and cutting tip changes as required;
- To ensure quality requirements and checks, using appropriate measuring equipment are carried out and documented as required;
- To ensure all required paperwork/labels are correctly completed and filed as necessary;
- To ensure manufacturing shop floor data collection system is updated when required;
- To ensure 6 ‘S’ standard is continually improved;
- To carry out Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) activities;
- To highlight any continuous improvement activities/opportunities;
- To act in a safe manner and highlight any health and safety risks;
- To work as part of team;
- To train other operators if and when required;
- To ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the company’s quality (TS16949) requirements;
- To liaise with other Departments;
- Any other Ad-hoc duties as required
The hours:
06:30 – 14:45 Monday to Thursday 30 minute paid break, 06:30 – 12:30 Friday 15 minute paid break
22:30 – 06:45 Monday to Thursday 30 minute paid break, 18:00 – 00:00 Friday 15 minute paid break
