Metal Polisher

An opportunity has become available for a metal polisher to join us. We are a leading bespoke design and manufacturing company based in Bolton, Lancashire. The majority of our customers are in the food and pharmaceutical sector.

The Role

The role involves the polishing of stainless steel components and fabrications. We would expect you to have some experience and knowledge to apply best polishing practices.

You will also be required to work alongside the works manufacturing team and to manage workloads. You should be able to polish to time and within budget.

The job involves working in your own polishing area and will involve the operating of polishing equipment and machinery for a long period of each day.

The Job

The core duties and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to;

Polishing/dull/mirror/satin finishes

Grinding

Polishing out weld seams

Polishing to crack and crevice free surface finish

You will require good eye to detail so that surface imperfections can be removed

Use of linisher/mops/grinding stones

The Candidate

To be considered for the role, you should have a good working knowledge of Metal polishing.

Training will be given but we would also expect you to have the following key skills;

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings

Build and maintain relationships with colleagues

Communications skills

Quick to pick up internal processes and procedures

A ‘can-do’ attitude and approach to engineering tasks and challenges

Pro-active and willing to help and support colleagues

Qualifications

You will ideally have a time served background in Metal Polishing.
