Randstad Education is currently seeking an Intervention Teacher to work closely with year 7 pupils within Maths, English and Science within the Manchester area.
You will be working with small groups and will be responsible for intervention at all levels. This great role would suit a flexible NQT or QTS with a great attitude and a real desire to support children in all areas of the core subject's curriculum. You will be required to report to the head of each subject or key stage coordinator and liaise with other members of these departments. You may also need to report to relevant non-teaching support staff and parents.
Main Duties:
- Provide an excellent environment and culture for learning in the intervention classroom.
- Ensure own practice is of a high standard.
- To promote and inspire learners through planning which takes into account the needs and progress of all.
- Actively seek student voice/feedback to raise standards
- Continually assess student progress.
- Provide students and parents with high quality feedback in order to drive attainment.
- Use available data including IEPs to plan, review and monitor progress of all students in order to promote rigorous improvement of attainment.
- Actively encourage and develop the well- being and success of pupils.
- Promote, reinforce and model the school's commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment.
Our requirements for this post mean you must:
- Have experience of working with secondary or KS2 aged children, which can be referenced
- Be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS)
- Be passionate about working with children and young people
- Possess the motivation to achieve and add value to the school
- Be flexible, punctual, professional and approachable
This role is to start in September until December initially, but this can lead to something more long-term in future.
