This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly successful, well established law firm in the North East. Supporting the Management Accountant the main responsibilities of the Assistant Accountant will be:
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts including:
o Processing accruals, pre-payments and journals
o Maintenance of the fixed asset register and calculating depreciation
o Balance sheet reconciliations and accounts up to trial balance
- Bank and cash book reconciliations, client and office accounts with regard to regulatory accounts rules
- Assisting with cashflow reports, credit control and purchase ledger
- Assisting with year end
- Analysis of profit and loss account, variance analysis
- Departmental margin and balance sheet reporting
- Take an active role in continuous improvement of financial processes, systems and other compliance related activity
- Other ad hoc duties
The successful candidate will be keen to get stuck in and be a good team player. Ideally the successful candidate would have worked in a similar level role and be able to picks things up quickly. A formal accountancy qualification such as AAT and or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA. Strong Excel skills (Pivot tables and VLook ups) is essential.
