The role will be a full time, permanent position offering a competitive salary of £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending upon experience plus an excellent benefits package.

Our Opportunity

Here at Innovative Technology we’ve a newly created and exciting opportunity for a Software Manager to lead our progressive and expanding team, whilst habitually driving quality. As a proven professional accustom to instilling and utilising the latest methodologies, you’ll lead the strategy and development in our leading-edge environment.

From embedded software through to web and UX you’ll bring our business all the skills necessary to further strengthen our resource, organisation and delivery of multiple software projects, on time and within budget, whilst raising the capabilities of high performing teams.

This role would ideally suit someone who’s leading a busy software development team within a manufacturing or product related environment, who’s looking for their next step in to a company at the forefront of their industry. The scope of this role will ensure variety, stimulation and challenge is assured.

What you’ll be doing as our Software Manager?

- You’ll manage a large team of developers, with the support of four Team Leaders

- You’ll develop and implement a robust software strategy/framework, to ensure the standard of the work delivery is consistently high quality

- You’ll utilise your proven ability in a similar role, whilst bringing in fresh ideas and opportunities to an established, yet growing team

- You’ll manage the growth, performance and evolving culture of the team, with clear strategies around continuous improvement and performance management

- You’ll take the lead and responsibility for all software projects including embedded, systems, web, UX/UI and QA/Testing

- You’ll identify technical and staffing needs within the team and work closely with other departments to recruit, develop and train your team members

- You’ll liaise with several key stakeholders from across the group to ensure their needs are met, company targets are met and expectations across the business are managed effectively

- You’ll be required to support with the engineering of software, when required

Key Skills & Experience required of our Software Manager:

- Proven experience of leading strategy and development of a large, multi-disciplined team, in a manufacturing or product based environment

- The successful person will have a background in hands-on software development and have relevant qualifications

- The ability to lead by example and inspire a team of software engineering professionals

- Excellent communication and influencing skills

- Exceptional levels of organisation and prioritisation abilities

- Being able to remain calm and resolute under the pressure of tight multiple deadlines

- Being able to write code in several key languages, with a bias towards C / C++
