Training 2000 is a charitable trust set up by a consortium of Lancashire businesses and is now one of the largest Group Training Associations in England, with over 50 years' experience of delivering high quality work-based learning and training programmes to industry and individuals. We have grown to more than 250 staff and 6 centres across the North West and other areas of the UK, working with national employers across a wide range of sectors, whilst maintaining local support.

A vacancy has arisen in the Study Programmes department for a Tutor.

About the Role as Tutor:

This vacancy will be responsible for teaching the Foundation Youth Learning programmes to young people aged 16-19 years, primarily teaching Employability and Personal and Social Development skills, whilst providing effective learner support.

This will be a permanent position based at the Training 2000 Blackburn site.

Requirements:

Ideally you will hold or be working towards a teaching qualification;

You will demonstrate a strong commitment to Continuous Professional Development, ensuring your development is aligned to specified requirements. 

You must have proven experience of delivering within a range of subject areas to a foundation cohort e.g. Functional Skills, Vocational skills, Employability and Personal & Social Skills.

You will have experience in teaching to groups of learners from diverse backgrounds that may be facing multiple barriers to participation in employment and training. 

You will have a genuine desire to work with disadvantaged, disaffected young people and to motivate them to progress to Further Education or Employment.

It is expected that you will be well organised, innovative and creative, have strong classroom management skills, be self-motivated and a good communicator as well as having excellent listening skills and good administrative skills.

You must have a proven track record of your learners achieving and good to outstanding lesson observation feedback. You will have significant experience in the design and development of curriculum, developing teaching resources and lesson plans to support learner centred delivery. 

You must hold a valid driving licence and have your own transport.
