Here at Advanced Supply Chain we have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Operator to join our team based in Bradford. The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary.

The main purpose of our Transport Operator will be to co-ordinate the transport operations of the depot in order to achieve business objectives and the needs of the customer.

Our Transport Operator duties and key responsibilities include:

- Ensure all administrative traffic duties are carried out as necessary and to a high level of accuracy and professionalism

- Ensure that details of vehicle accidents are escalated to line management

- Ensure that defected vehicles are recorded on traffic sheets

- Ensure that the procedure for damaged deliveries is followed where necessary and escalated to the Customer Service team.

- Achieve weekly and monthly KPIs as set by the business and / or Customer Service Level Agreements, escalating any issues impacting on these to line management and customers directly

- Use all IT based systems in the effective delivery of their role including ATMS, WIP, Debrief & tracking screens

- Ensure that appropriate communication methods are used to provide information to internal customers as required e.g. debrief of drivers, driver issues and planning issues.

- Ensure compliance with Company Health & Safety requirements highlighting any concerns to line management

The successful Transport Operator must have the following skills, experience and attributes:

- Effective communication skills (verbal and written)

- Ability to work under pressure and react quickly to customer requirements

- Effective Customer Service Skills

- Ability to take a creative approach to problem solving.

- Working knowledge of driver hours regulations

- Good geographical knowledge of the UK

- Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements

- Excellent IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Desirable

- Financial Understanding

- Previous experience within a transport / logistics organisation

- Experience of managing conflicting priorities in a fast moving environment

- CPC Qualification

Working hours for the Transport Operator will be shifts of 5:00–14:00 and 13:00–22:00, 21:00–6:00  on a rotating weekly pattern.

Saturday overtime is on a rota with the afternoon shift working Saturday morning.
