HR Business Partner, Retail (12 months - secondment or fixed term)


The role

The HRBP manages the relationship with ,the Retail businesses. These consist of: Branch Banking (personal and private), Telephony, Complaints, Business Banking, Mortgage channels (branch, telephony & intermediaries), Risk and Support Teams.

The role includes identifying and addressing people related business requirements by working with the Managing Director and senior leaders to deliver strategic HR solutions. The role holder will outline and drive the business people plan and sponsor HR projects across HR and Williams and Glyn. The role operates within the new HR Target Operating Model (TOM), including use of HR self services and HR Shared Services.

The immediate focus is on supporting the change, business stand-ups, and separation plans, managing necessary interactions with senior leadership team, the separation Programme and Unite whilst supporting wider plans for the migration of colleagues through separation.



In addition, you will input to the review and improved design and delivery of Williams & Glyn people processes, policies, products and services and will also support the Head of HR in delivery of the HR strategy.

Deliverables include:
* To manage key business and HR relationships to enable HR to add value to the business
* To align HR strategy to the business strategy and find the best way for HR to add value to the business
* Generating a strategic HR plan addressing business priorities
* Drive the People Plan for the business ensuring delivery of HR solutions that generate a positive impact on business performance
* To diagnose issues that require HR input/involvement and provide products and solutions that are fit for purpose and support the implementation of the People Plan
* To drive business and people strategy by actively managing project workstreams
* To proactively implement HR products, processes and policies across the business area
* Identifying and sponsor key projects (both business unit specific and divisional) which support the delivery of the People Plan
* Providing technical input and HR advice to the business (involving Group HR specialists where appropriate)
* Identifying trends in colleague analytics to inform strategic interventions
* Operate as an integral, valuable and influential member of the leadership team
* Partner with business leaders on identifying and addressing strategic workforce issues - across the whole spectrum of HR
* Ensure an effective Organisation Design and operating structure is in place - restructuring where necessary
* Deliver specific people related projects as required in liaison with Specialist Partners in HR
Design, develop and implement people strategies for the Business Units
* Lead on agreed Specialist areas for Williams & Glyn, driving change and improvement across the business as a whole
* Ensure high quality HR support is delivered to the business - whether directly or indirectly
* Anticipate and identify business and HR issues and trends, planning HR interventions and delivering solutions
* Participate in the design and development of the HR strategy
* Be an ambassador for the Williams & Glyn culture - ensuring we do the right things for our customers and people

About you
* An experienced HRBP, you will demonstrate:
o Experience gained within a banking or financial services environment (essential)
o Experience gained at HRBP level
o Ability to manage a complex role in a fast paced commercial environment
o Ability to manage relationships internally with key stakeholders, demonstrating ability to self-manage, work independently and tenaciously
o People mentoring/management experience
o Strong diagnostic skills
o Exposure to retail banking (desired)
