Title: Estate Worker/Gardener

Full time gardener/grounds worker required for a privately owned Estate near Guildford, Surrey. Owing to developments within the garden team, an additional position has arisen to join the existing team in improving and maintaining our expansive and historic outdoor space.

Proven experience of working effectively on another large country estate or farm is a key requirement, along with a willingness to work flexibly and take on alternative or additional duties during the winter months.

The ideal candidate will be able to manage a balance of working effectively on their own initiative and also as part of a team. The may be subject to some out of hours working on occasion, including some evenings and weekends when required but this is currently extremely rare.

Owing to the Estate’s location, a full driving licence with access to own vehicle would be a distinct advantage. A competitive annual salary is offered, together with a range of company benefits. 

Person Specification 
Essential: 

• Relevant horticultural qualifications / experience
• Previous experience of working on country estates or farm
• Ability to work efficiently on an independent basis as well as within a wider team 
• Attention to detail and to the personal needs and requirements of the guests 
• A confident and positive attitude and the ability to engage with a diverse range of colleagues and clients, including VIPs 

Desirable: 

• Previous experience of working in private residential services 
• Previous professional vegetable and glasshouse gardening experience
