History of Service
The Merthyr MIA Service and RCT Cynon Valley Links Service are borne out of Welsh Families First arrangements to provide early intervention services to children, young people and their families in order to prevent escalation of need whereby statutory intervention is necessary. Equally, to provide support services to families as part of de-escalation processes from statutory child in need/child at risk services.

The objective of the service is to be responsible for ensuring the administrative support to the Family Support Services in the Valley locality is provided in an efficient and effective manner.

To provide a flexible and responsive approach to meet the needs of the service in line with the three office demands (Fernhill, Penywaun and Merthyr Tydfil).

The responsibilities are as set out in the Job Description and Person specification as well as the following:
Provision of minute taking during internal team meetings and wider partnership meetings and Maintaining good/effective communication links with the staff team to ensure effective communication links.

The post holder would be expected to work as part of an admin team and work to support services as and where required across the locality.

This would necessitate being located at any of the locality service bases as required in order to meet admin needs and provide cover as and when required.
