Project Planner
Our client is seeking to appoint a Qualified Project Planner with experience in the detailed planning of complex infrastructure projects up to £20 million in value to be based out of their Falmouth office.
This role requires a strong technical background but with a bias towards civil, mechanical or marine construction industries. The successful applicant will be a Project Controls Lead providing comprehensive project controls for the project teams for which they work and to the client. As Project Planner, you will report into the Project Manager.
This is an opportunity to join an established marine drilling contractor in a highly motivated and challenging construction business, working on some of the UK's largest marine infrastructure projects. You will be part of an experienced team that have a significant impact on the successful delivery of these multi million pound contracts, using state of the art project controls tools and techniques that provide concise information to the projects they support.
Requirements
- Experienced Engineering Professional with a minimum HNC qualification in Mechanical/Civil Engineering.
- Extensive experience in the use of Primavera Project Planner – Enterprise versions.
- Experience in preparing project resource histograms, and performance analysis data, and CPI/SPI information.
- Must demonstrate a detailed understanding of Project Controls Techniques including, budget and spend management, change control, Earned Value Management, data analysis, trend analysis and Work Package Management.
- A detailed understanding of Civil, marine or mechanical Engineering projects and how they are designed, constructed and commissioned
- Must be able to accurately define project programmes and schedules.
- Member of the APM preferred.
- Must be able to work under own initiative in the production of Project Programmes and Tender Programmes.
- Develop broad technical competence and able to check work of all those in the projectteam

Supervision
This is a key role calling for strong communication and organisational skills - knowledge of the specialist marine construction industry would be advantageous but not essential. The role would be ideal for a person looking to expand their career and take ‘the next step' in their profession.
