Permanent role - Part time (flexible working)

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Human Resources professional to join the Martin Group of Companies based in Derbyshire (M1 junction 28) in this newly created role. The Group, established 1976, consists of nine trading companies operating within the construction and waste industries, has a consolidated turnover of £100million and over 850 employees.

The role is suited to a commercially driven and flexible HR professional who is CIPD qualified with 2-4 years PQE with a broad range of experience covering disciplinary and grievance advice and guidance, recruitment and performance management.

Working closely with the Group HR Manager, the role will be varied and will include support for Line Managers with a variety of employment matters and include providing administrative support, up to date employment law advice and assistance with ad hoc business development.

Human Resources Advisor Summary:

  • Working with the Group HR Manager to deliver a professional and comprehensive HR advice and support service across the Group, inclusive of employee relations issues, recruitment, learning and organisational development.
  • To support and implement the aims and business objectives of each business unit, through the application of Group policies and procedures.
  • To communicate and work effectively with Line Managers and occasionally with external clients to achieve Group objectives.
  • To advise on employment matters and provide suitable interpretation to Line Managers and provide administrative support where appropriate.
  • To manage recruitment processes to attract, develop, motivate and retain staff of the required calibre.
  • Ability to understand, support and respond to the needs of a diverse Group and protect profitability.

Experience required for this Human Resources Advisor:

  • The post holder must have at least two years proven ability in an operational HR advisory role and be able to demonstrate an ability to communicate in a clear manner.
  • They must be able to work on their own initiative and problem solve when under pressure.  At times they must be prepared to be isolated on issues and possess a robust disposition to influence at the highest levels.
  • Ability to robustly manage and control departmental expenditure within agreed budgets.
