HELP SHAPE OUR SERVICE

DUDLEY CHILDREN'S SERVICE

Our vision is to give children the best start in life and to support families to be independent, responsible and successful and to ensure we provide the highest levels of public protection for our most vulnerable children.

We recognise the importance of investing in our workforce and are committed to giving you the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills through our learning and development offer which is an integral and crucial component of our transformation programme.

This will ensure that you meet all of the criteria laid down in the new national assessment and accreditation systems that have been developed for social workers. We are working hard to ensure that our offer is the very best there is and that it will simultaneously help you meet the demands of the job, as well as exceeding our aspirations for Dudley's children's services.

We want the best people to travel with us and to reap the rewards along the way.

SOCIAL WORKERS

Level A - Grade 8 £26,556 - £29,033 (Must have passed ASYE)
Level B - Grade 10 £33,106 - £36,019) (37 hours weekly)

We are currently recruiting in the following areas: Assessment, Care Management, Looked After Children, Leaving Care, and Disability.

As a social worker you will be part of a developing service which uses a systematic practice model - which at its heart includes shared case loads, multiagency working and a commitment to reflective team case discussion and decision making. Team development is based on shared learning and evidenced based practice .

You will be joining a small pod of social workers, managed by an experienced manager and supported by a dedicated pod coordinator to deal with routine administrative tasks enabling the social worker to concentrate on working with families.

You will be responsible for a caseload but will share responsibility and work with others in your pod as you intervene together with families, to ensure the best possible outcome for children.

This small supportive team will be enhanced with the integration of professionals from other specialisms and disciplines offering an integrated response to families as the model develops.
